2019 - Reliving the Year in Pictures

If we had to use one word to describe the year 2019, it would be 'enriching'. Our ecosystem of partners - both Samaaj and Sarkaar - grew multifold, enabling us to take our collective mission further. 2019 was a year of adoption for us. We are thankful to each of you for engaging in this emerging, co-creation journey with us. Looking back, there are many memories that got created; and, we thought what could be a better way to welcome the new year than by celebrating the moments from 2019.

Here are the places we traveled with you. To many more in 2020..!

Delhi

Supporting the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) and Mantra4Change in conceptualization and implementation of the School Development Index (SDI) across 5000+ schools gave the perfect start to our year.

Uttarakhand

December saw the State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) gearing up to leverage our platform to enable personalized, in-time learning opportunities for school leaders under their flagship SLDP program.

Punjab

In the truest spirit of co-creation and collaboration, this August, three of our partner organizations - Sanjhi Sikhiya, Mantra4Change, and Samarthya - came together to craft the magical story of transformation in the state; and they found an equally trusting partner in the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab. In less than six months, the leaders at the block, district, and state levels have demonstrated an openness to new ideas and readiness to change old practices. Data from the digital platform is empowering leaders to change the nature of on-field conversations and actions. It has been a privilege to be a part of this collective.

Goa

Improving schools is one of the primary responsibilities of school leaders. In Goa, our partner, Adhyayan Foundation has been working with the Department of Education (DoE) to improve the ability of school leaders to define and execute improvement projects along the themes of Shaala Siddhi framework.

Rajasthan

Under Niti Aayog's Aspirational Districts Programme, Kaivalya Education Foundation has been leading the efforts on building capacity of education leaders as coaches and reflective practitioners. Last month, 200+ leaders came together for a self assessment exercise in Baran district of Rajasthan.

Karnataka

Having been based in Karnataka, throughout 2019, we witnessed, drove and became part of collective action at multiple levels in the state - from building narratives around a Training and Development Policy for education Leaders with State Institute for School Leadership, Educational Planning and Management (with State Institute for School Leadership Educational Planning and ManagementSISLEP) to supporting UNICEF in enabling Master Resource Persons (MRPs) to improve the quality of Nali Kali classrooms to conceptualizing innovative tools, like Energised School Calendars with Mantra4Change to support DIET in improving the quality of workshops for Cluster Resource Persons and Master Trainers.

Tamil Nadu

As a platform, we always promote the idea of reusability. Our partner, Vidhya Vidhai demonstrated it by leveraging the idea of Energised School Planners and by contextualizing it to the needs of their state. When an opportunity came to facilitate the conversations around the importance of School Management Committees (SMCs) among District coordinators and Resource Persons from 33 districts of Tamil Nadu, team Vidhya Vidhai leveraged ShikshaLokam to create a unique learning experience.

ShikshaLokam Family wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful new year.
