Pragathiya Hejje (Improvement footprint) was a success. It was an event aimed at celebrating micro-improvements, carried out by teachers and school principals. Our partner organization, Mantra4Change co-created this event with the Block level leadership in Anekal, Bangalore.
Led and facilitated by the Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) of Anekal, Mr. Shankar Murthy, Pragathiya Hejje presented an opportunity for the Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) to identify and showcase multiple micro-improvements that principals, teachers and SMC members in their clusters were already doing. To enable sharing and learning from each other, the BRC and the CRPs encouraged and worked with the principals, teachers and SMC members to capture these projects on Unnati - ShikshaLokam's micro-improvement capability. This made effective sharing possible.
The stakeholders felt extremely positive about the whole experience as it gave them a unique opportunity "to share the good work that is being done (by them), to learn from each other and be appreciated". During the reflection circle, many of them suggested that such cycles of sharing of best practices should be institutionalized as it improves their morale. For our BRC, Mr. Shankar, it was a carnival with many proud moments.
