Continuous Professional Development in times of Covid-19 | Andhra Pradesh

COVID-19 has disrupted the conventional notion of schooling and thus, the roles that stakeholders in the education system have to play. Despite this, it's heartwarming to see how various states have started planning their response to enable continuity of learning at home - whether for students or for teachers & leaders. ShikshaLokam is glad to share one such example being led by the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh.
The department in their endeavor to build the capacity of their teachers in pedagogy have been designing interesting digital learning resources and assessment modules for independent consumption (self-learning) of the teachers. The 'Abhyasa' app, powered by ShikshaLokam, was launched by the Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh and has been proposed to be a one-stop learning tool for the education leaders and teachers. Over 400 learning resources have already been created on the platform by the SCERT. More than 75000 teachers in the state have been learning from these resources on a daily basis using the app.
Under the leadership of Ms. Vetri Selvi, Special Officer - English Medium as Instruction - the state department is spearheading this statewide implementation despite the lockdown and uncertainty around Covid in the ecosystem. The state is continuously exploring and designing ways to support continuous learning in the state during these difficult times leveraging our platform. ShikshaLokam is proud to be associated with this initiative. To know more, please do write to us.
