Launch of Micro-Innovation Awards | Andhra Pradesh

Our school leaders and teachers are leaving no stones unturned in these surreal times. There are so many unseen yet powerful innovations being designed and practised by our education leaders. In an attempt to celebrate and recognize these innovative efforts of our leaders as well as to spread it across in form of 'best practices', Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (APSWREIS) launched the Micro-innovations award this June. The announcement was made by Col. V. Ramulu, IPoS, Secretary, APSWREIS at the end of a 1-week capacity building program for the school leaders, led by our partner organisation, Mantra4Change.

During the week, the leaders were introduced to the domains of school improvement and their linkages to the School Development Plan. Using 'Unnati' - the micro improvement capability of ShikshaLokam platform, the leaders chose improvement projects that they wanted to work on and created them on the platform. Mr Koteswara Rao, a leader and a participant said, "Prioritization matrix, setting of SMART goals, project designing and need to monitor progress are my key learnings from this week." Participants also discussed best practices from their own workplace experiences. During the program, school leaders were energized and excited about being able to connect and learn from each other, and being appreciated for all the work they engage in, in their schools.

To encourage innovation and to bring it into mainstream conversation, Col. Ramulu in partnership with team Mantra4Change announced the quarterly Micro innovation awards. If this idea interests you and if you want to know more, please write to us.
