Brief Description

Content around improving relationships between school support systems and its network of schools, partners and communities and content related to how school support systems can help schools or people/institutions in school support system improve their relationships, networks and partnerships with communities and other entities. This network could include non-government organizations, consultants, parent communities etc.

Rationale for inclusion in the Taxonomy

Educational leadership for school support systems has recognized the importance that the support systems play in either supporting or inhibiting the ability of schools and the broader school system in building and nurturing networks, partnerships with the larger community and society at large. Many school improvement interventions and changes has been attributed to the support of school systems that actively help bring community networks and partnerships to schools. Educational leadership views the building of external relationships, networks and partnerships as core leadership practice, and this is further echoed in educational leadership philosophies of participatory and collaborative leadership and management. Therefore this finds a place in the taxonomy for school support systems.
