Cultures, values and beliefs

Content around school culture, values and beliefs and perspectives around developing school culture, importance of school vision and its building, developing collaborative cultures and teams aimed towards improving the functioning of school and improving student learning. Often changes in school require a change in thinking and doing by all individuals who are an integral part of the school. This requires a deep understanding of the what, why and how of culture and its influence on schools and student learning, understanding needs, aspirations and priorities of stakeholders, identifying school priorities/goals.

Building a vision for an organization and system, setting directions, involving others in the setting of the vision and building consensus for the vision, focusing on underlying mindsets, values and beliefs are essential elements of educational leadership.
